Overview

Webflow AI can turn a basic prompt into a site with a scalable design system, then help teams manage and improve web experiences through copy, structured CMS content, SEO, AEO, performance and localization workflows. Webflow’s conversational AI Assistant can reason through tasks, take actions and answer questions inside the platform. That breadth is useful for teams that want AI embedded in their site-building workflow, rather than a stand-alone generator.

Webflow supports hosting, custom domains, responsive templates and page building, with a 300-page limit on the Basic plan and advanced ecommerce support. Code export is limited, so teams that need to take their site elsewhere as portable code should weigh that constraint before committing.

Key features

Creation and optimization

The AI site builder generates a whole website from a prompt, while the AI workflow spans copy creation and refinement, structured CMS content, SEO, AEO, performance and localization. Webflow Optimize uses machine learning for experimentation and personalization, and Webflow Localization applies machine learning to translate and adapt sites for global audiences. These features make Webflow more compelling for ongoing site operations than for prompt-based generation alone, though some capabilities sit on higher-tier plans.

Integrations and MCP

Webflow’s Marketplace includes 410 apps, among them Figma to Webflow, Relume Site Builder Import, Zapier, HubSpot, Google site tools and Microsoft Clarity. The MCP server connects compatible tools such as Claude, Cursor, Codex and Slack to natural-language workflows for site design, building and content management. It is available on all Site plans, including free Starter, but excludes users with the Reviewer site role. It cannot yet create localized CMS items, control some CMS bindings and element settings, or run page-level Analyze queries; teams with those needs should not assume MCP can replace direct work in Webflow.

Data and security

Webflow says customer data, prompts and outputs are not used to train generative AI or improve foundational models. It says its AI security and compliance practices maintain active SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 certifications. Team includes priority support, but Webflow does not provide direct troubleshooting for Marketplace apps, an important boundary for teams relying on third-party extensions.

Pricing

Webflow’s plans scale from a limited free site to paid hosting and team capabilities. Site counts are one site per license, so organizations planning multiple sites should account for separate licenses.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes and who it fits
Starter	0.00 USD per free	Webflow.io domain, limited CMS, 2 static pages, 1 GB bandwidth and 50 form submissions, plus Webflow AI and MCP. Suitable for a small trial or simple presence, but the page and bandwidth caps rule it out for a substantial public site.
Basic	15.00 USD per month, billed yearly	Custom domain, 300 static pages, 10 GB bandwidth, unlimited form submissions, password protection, Webflow AI and MCP. A fit for a custom-domain site that does not need CMS functionality included in the higher plan.
Premium	25.00 USD per month, billed yearly	Webflow CMS, code components, site search, form file upload and well-known files. The step up from Basic is for sites that depend on CMS-driven content or these additional site features.
Standard Ecommerce	29.00 USD per month, billed annually	500 ecommerce items, a 2% transaction fee, and a custom shopping cart and checkout. The item allowance and transaction fee matter when evaluating the cost of an online store.
Team	2500.00 USD per month; annual contract required	Webflow Localize, AEO agents, publishing workflows, single-page publishing, site activity log and API, enhanced security and compliance, and priority support. This is for teams that need centralized publishing and governance, but the price and contract commitment make it a substantial step beyond site plans.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; talk to Webflow	Enterprise scale, granular permissions, custom roles, advanced governance, secure integrations, a dedicated account manager, enhanced SLAs and custom configurations. Intended for organizations requiring tailored controls and support.

Platforms

Webflow is available on web and through an API. Its marketplace integrations and MCP connections can connect it with other tools, but limited code export makes it a less natural fit for teams whose stack depends on moving a finished site into another hosting or development environment.

Who it's for

Webflow AI is best suited to businesses and collaborative teams that want to launch quickly without giving up creative control, and that expect to keep refining content and site performance after launch. Its CMS and localization options suit content-led or international sites, while the Team plan targets organizations that need publishing workflows, activity visibility and stronger controls. A two-page free site works for evaluation, not as a substitute for a larger production presence; teams prioritizing inexpensive, portable code should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Prompt-based generation is paired with content, SEO, AEO, performance and localization tools, supporting work beyond the initial launch.
Pros: MCP access on every Site plan, including Starter, opens natural-language workflows in compatible AI tools without requiring a paid site plan.
Pros: CMS, team publishing, localization and governance options provide a path from a small site to more coordinated operations.
Cons: Starter is limited to 2 static pages, 1 GB bandwidth and 50 form submissions, making it unsuitable for many growing sites.
Cons: MCP does not cover several CMS and analysis tasks, so teams may still need to do those jobs directly in Webflow.
Cons: Code export is limited, and Team’s 2500.00 USD per month price with an annual contract is a major cost and portability consideration.

Alternatives

For a simpler AI-builder option, Caddisfly offers a free plan with one published site, 1 GB storage and 50 AI credits per month. Zarla is worth considering for a free, multi-platform builder with 75 AI credits and up to 10 pages, though its free plan is preview-only. Choose Duda if a paid builder with a free trial and a 150-credit monthly AI allowance on its Basic plan better suits your needs. 10Web is an alternative for teams seeking a paid AI website plan starting at $10 /mo for 12 months, with one website and 100 AI credits per month.

Squarespace Website Builder may suit teams comparing paid website builders that include a free trial; its Basic plan allows up to 2 contributors and has online-store and digital-content transaction fees. Elementor is a freemium option for teams building on self-hosted web platforms. GoDaddy Websites + Marketing is another freemium builder with a free trial and email marketing allowances on its plans. Plot offers a free plan and a paid Starter plan with monthly AI generation, regeneration and image quotas.

Verdict

Choose Webflow AI if your team wants prompt-driven site creation within a platform that also supports content operations, optimization and collaborative publishing. Its strongest case is the combination of creative control with integrated AI workflows and broad integrations. Look elsewhere if limited code export is a blocker, if MCP must handle the gaps it currently has, or if the cost and annual commitment of the Team plan outweigh the need for its governance and support features.
