Overview

Zip is an AI platform for coordinating enterprise purchasing, from employee requests through procurement, supplier, sourcing, risk, and contract workflows. It is best suited to teams that need those workflows to connect with existing business systems and access controls. Its breadth and integration options are compelling; custom pricing means buyers should confirm both cost and scope before committing.

Key features

Zip turns plain-language employee requests into completed forms and routes them for approval, reducing the manual work between an employee’s request and a decision. Its intake agents can validate requests and flag pricing above market data, a useful check for procurement teams, though buyers should assess how those checks fit their own approval policies.

The platform also covers purchase orders and invoice management, supplier onboarding, sourcing, risk orchestration, and AI contract orchestration. That span can give procurement, finance, accounting, IT and security, and legal teams a shared set of workflows rather than separate point solutions. Zip says its procure-to-pay product automates purchasing and payments; the breadth makes it worth evaluating for organizations consolidating processes, but may be more than teams seeking a narrow request form need.

Zip’s marketplace offers more than 100 integrations across ERP, P2P, CLM, GRC, ITSM, and other systems. Teams can connect through pre-built templates, App Studio, Zip MCP, REST APIs, or flat-file imports. Zip MCP can bring procurement data into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other compatible tools; users authenticate, and actions are logged in Zip’s audit trail. This range is a strength for varied stacks, while the appropriate integration path will depend on the systems a buyer already runs.

Zip says customer data is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher in transit and AES-256 at rest. Its access controls include SAML-based SSO, SCIM provisioning, role-based permissions, and customer audit logs. It reports SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 audits, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and GDPR-oriented privacy practices. Zip says it does not use customer data to train models unless customers explicitly permit it, and customers can opt out of AI functionality. These controls address important enterprise review questions, but teams should still verify fit with their own requirements.

Pricing

Zip AI procurement platform: custom pricing; request a demo. Zip is a paid product, and buyers should establish the quote and included scope directly. No free plan or trial terms are provided.

With no public price or tier breakdown, teams cannot compare costs by seats, request volume, or workflow scope before engaging Zip. That makes it harder for smaller organizations to assess budget fit upfront, even though Zip says it serves customers from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

Platforms

Zip is available on web and through an API. Its integration options also include templates, App Studio, MCP, and flat-file imports, giving technical teams several ways to connect procurement workflows to existing systems.

Who it's for

Zip is aimed at organizations seeking coordinated procurement workflows across departments, especially teams with existing ERP, P2P, contract, risk, or IT service systems to integrate. Procurement leaders may value the intake-to-pay scope and transformation support; finance, accounting, IT and security, and legal teams are also named audiences. Zip’s Enterprise Transformation Office, staffed by former enterprise procurement leaders, works with customers on operational change and adoption.

It is a weaker fit for buyers who need transparent self-serve pricing or only a simple, low-cost purchasing request tool. Its enterprise controls and integration choices matter most when there are systems and approval structures to connect.

Pros and cons

Broad procurement coverage: intake, purchasing, supplier onboarding, sourcing, risk, and contracts can be coordinated in one platform.
Flexible integration paths: more than 100 marketplace integrations and options from templates to REST APIs can accommodate varied stacks.
Governance for enterprise use: SSO, SCIM, roles, audit logs, and reported security certifications support formal access and compliance reviews.
Custom pricing limits early comparison: buyers must request a demo and quote to understand cost and package scope.
Potentially excessive scope for narrow needs: teams looking only to manage basic requests may not benefit from the platform’s wider workflow range.

Alternatives

For a free starting point with a hard document cap, Flowie offers a forever-free plan limited to 24 documents per month (300 per year), basic processing, and one entity, without workflows. Raindrop Systems is another paid option with API and web platforms.

Coverbase uses quote-based custom pricing, while Opstream provides personalized pricing after company information is submitted. Spendflo may suit teams evaluating a request-volume model: its Grow plan includes 1,000 requests per year, charges a platform fee plus a per-completed-request rate by spend tier, and treats accounts payable and custom agents as add-ons.

Genie Bazaar is an alternative for teams focused on asset tracking, with its Starter plan offering QR tagging, mobile access, and API access for up to 1,000 assets and 10 users. Reqoz offers a paid, annual-contract Growth plan for organizations with 2,000 to 5,000 employees, including onboarding, risk, legal, privacy, and monitoring agents.

For procurement basics with a public price, Precoro lists its Core plan at 499.00 USD per month, billed annually, with vendor and spend management, integrations, reporting, analytics, and a mobile app.

Verdict

Zip is a strong candidate for organizations that want to coordinate procurement from request intake through purchasing and adjacent supplier, risk, sourcing, and contract workflows, especially when integration and access governance are priorities. Choose it when that breadth and its enterprise-oriented controls justify a custom-priced platform; look elsewhere if upfront pricing or a narrow, simple purchasing tool is more important.
