Galaxy S8 design confirmed after official teaser and leaks

Here finally comes what is believed to be the official renders of the Galaxy S8 that have leaked online. That the leaks are the handiwork of noted leakster, Evan Blass further adds a layer of credibility to it, with high chances of the final thing being as close to what is being depicted here.

Also, from what is evident right away, the front is dominated almost entirely by the gorgeous display that extends for most of the mobile’s front. Some sources mentioned the display to be all of the 5.5-inch though rumor has it that a bigger 6.2-inch version is also in the making.

Conspicuous by its absence is the all too familiar home button that the front is devoid of.

Whether that is responsible for making the device look a bit longer than usual is not known though the overall looks are great, to say the least. The UI does not seem to have undergone any change though the navigational button is shown sporting a new design.

The bezel around the sides are almost non-existent while the same along the top and bottom are reduced to just the bare minimum. The display also tapers off along the right to make for a curved display that’s reminiscent of Samsung’s Edge series of handsets.

The company has used that region in past devices such as the S7 Edge or the Note 7 to hold shortcuts for various apps or contacts, and the same is expected to continue in the S8 as well.

Further, the volume rocker buttons have been accommodated along the left while just below it seems what’s likely to be the power button. Now Samsung usually has the power button placed along the right, and while there still exists a button on the right edge, the chances are that it could be to launch the company’s own artificial intelligence enabled personal assistant codenamed Bixby.

The home button along with the fingerprint sensor is expected to be placed at the rear though the latest leaks do not confirm that. What it does confirm however is that the headphone jack will continue to be there on the S8.

Samsung is touted to launch the new flagship S8 on March 29 though with that still some weeks away, there sure will be a few more leaks and speculations in between. Stay tuned.
