Apple iPhone 8 will come on time but supply would remain constrained

Notwithstanding persistent rumors about the anniversary iPhone 8 getting delayed owing to various technical issues, a new leak has suggested just the opposite; that it is going to arrive on time after all. That makes for a launch around September, which happens to be the usual period when Apple refreshes its iPhone range.

That the revelation comes from the usually reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo further adds a layer of authenticity to the report. Kuo is particularly known for being quite accurate with his Apple related predictions. His latest finding will no doubt bring cheers to a lot of Apple fans who otherwise have been bracing for outright delays.

According to the report, there will be three iPhone models that would be launched at the same time.

Those include the iPhone 8 along with the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus which would serve as the enhanced version of last year’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models.

However, while it is always nice to see Apple sticking to its launch plans with the iPhone 8 which clearly has emerged to be the most anticipated iPhone model in a decade, the Kuo report mentions supply might still be constrained. If that is not all, things are likely to remain the same for the rest of 2017.

Reasons have earlier been cited for delays in the launch of the iPhone 8 include various technical issues that range from below par performance of either the face recognition feature or wireless charging. Lack of enough OLED panels is also another reason why many believed had been adversely affecting iPhone 8 production.

The upcoming anniversary iPhone is all set to be the first from Apple to come with an OLED screen. The benefits are many as these sip less battery power while having better color output capabilities.

That apart, the other special bit about the device is going to be its all-screen front layout. That makes for a completely zero bezel design with the just a minor cut-out at the top to house the front cam or other sensors.

Meanwhile, the Kuo report also mentions the choice of colors with the new iPhone 8 to remain limited to black, silvery white and gold color option that is being described as champagne gold. Missing is the rose gold color options even though it happens to be the most sought after.
