Overview

AssetTiger is a cloud-based asset management platform for tracking inventory, maintenance, depreciation, contracts, and audits. It suits teams that need mobile custody records, maintenance reminders, and structured reporting alongside integrations to business systems. Its broad feature set and unlimited-user paid tiers are appealing, but costs rise with the asset count and API access requires a paid plan.

Key features

Barcode and QR scanning on iOS and Android, check-in/check-out handoffs, and offline scanning that syncs when a device reconnects make AssetTiger useful for teams moving equipment between people or locations. GPS location tracking is also supported. Offline capture is a practical advantage where connectivity is unreliable, though the platform's free inventory allowance is too small for most operational rollouts.

Recurring maintenance schedules and pre-deadline email alerts help teams keep service obligations visible. Depreciation can use straight-line, declining-balance, or sum-of-years-digits methods, giving finance and operations teams several common approaches without relying on a single calculation method.

More than 80 report types can be exported to CSV or PDF, supporting analysis outside the platform. The REST API connects to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Dynamics, and ITSM tools including ServiceNow and Jira Service Management. Paid plans include a sandbox and Swagger documentation; requiring a paid subscription for API access makes the free options less useful for teams building integrations.

Security controls include 120+ permission settings, two-factor authentication, Google SSO, and an immutable activity log. Trial accounts receive standard email support, while paid plans include priority support.

Pricing

Inventory Free costs 0.00 USD per free, is included with an account, and allows up to 2 inventory items. That is suitable only for a minimal evaluation, not a working inventory. The separate Free trial costs 0.00 USD per free for 30 days and covers up to 250 assets and 2 users, with no credit card required. Its user cap makes it a small-team evaluation rather than a broad deployment.

Basic costs $20/mo or $220/yr billed yearly for 500 assets and unlimited users. It is the entry point for a live team, and its user allowance avoids per-seat constraints. Core costs $40/mo or $440/yr for 2,500 assets; Advanced is $75/mo or $825/yr for 10,000; Pro is $140/mo or $1,540/yr for 50,000; Enterprise is $275/mo or $3,025/yr for 250,000. All include unlimited users, so the plan decision is chiefly about asset volume.

Inventory Paid is $15/mo, $14/mo, or an add-on to any plan at $165/yr, and provides unlimited inventory items. It can extend a subscription where the base inventory cap is insufficient, but teams should account for the add-on alongside their underlying plan. Paid pricing begins at $20/mo. The free inventory allowance and trial are distinct: the former is capped at two items, while the latter expires after 30 days.

Platforms

AssetTiger runs on the web and has iOS and Android apps, with an API for integrations on paid plans. Offline mobile scanning is valuable for field inventory work, while the web interface supports broader record and report workflows.

Who it's for

Schools, IT teams, healthcare organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, construction, and manufacturing are among the organizations the maker identifies as users. The combination of custody logging, maintenance scheduling, depreciation, and reporting makes it most relevant to organizations managing physical assets across teams. A small operation with only a handful of items can start free, but a functioning deployment will likely need a paid tier.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited users on every paid asset tier keeps costs tied to inventory scale rather than headcount.
Pro: Offline barcode and QR scanning can capture custody activity when a device has no connection.
Pro: Extensive reporting, depreciation methods, and documented API tooling support operational and financial workflows.
Con: The included free inventory allowance is only 2 items, too limited for meaningful ongoing asset management.
Con: API access requires a paid plan, so teams cannot build an integration around the free tier.
Con: Asset-based plan caps require a higher subscription as inventory grows, even though user counts remain unlimited.

Alternatives

Asset Tracking Software is the broader category to explore when comparing asset-management options.

AssetCenter is worth considering for a perpetual free allowance of 25 assets if reports are not needed; its free plan explicitly excludes reports. MapYourTag may fit a very small team seeking a free tier with 10 assets, 2 users, and email alerts. Prey is an alternative for teams whose platform requirements include Linux, macOS, or Windows as well as mobile and web.

Sortly offers a free tier with 100 unique items, one user license, and two active jobs, which may suit a smaller, single-user inventory. Asset Infinity is a paid alternative with a Standard plan at $130.00 USD per month for 500 assets and items. Snipe-IT is the option to examine if self-hosting, open source, and unlimited users and assets are priorities.

Reftab has a free plan for up to 50 assets with unlimited inventory and software tracking, mobile apps, and barcode and QR-code support. Asset Giant offers a free-forever tier with 100 assets and one user, a fit to compare for a smaller inventory that does not need multiple users.

Verdict

AssetTiger is a strong choice for teams that need asset custody, maintenance, depreciation, reporting, and integrations in one platform, especially when unlimited paid-plan users matter. Its offline scanning and API documentation add practical value for distributed operations and connected systems. Look elsewhere if a useful free inventory tier or API access without a paid subscription is essential; otherwise, choose the paid plan whose asset cap matches the inventory you need to manage.
