Overview

Boot-US is a boot manager and disk utility package for keeping multiple operating systems independent on one x86 PC. It suits people maintaining dual-boot or multi-Windows machines who want partition tools alongside boot selection; its broad firmware and disk-format support is balanced by PC-count licensing for commercial use and an explicit as-is warranty condition.

Key features

Boot-US supports BIOS and UEFI booting, boot-entry editing, boot repair and boot-menu customization. It can start operating systems independently, including multiple separate Windows installations. That makes it a practical fit for machines where operating systems need to remain separated, rather than a narrowly focused tool for making bootable USB media.

Disk support covers MBR and GPT at any disk size. The included utilities show partition details, hide partitions, and back up or restore whole disks and partitions, extending the package beyond boot management. Configuration is available through a Windows graphical program or command-line versions for Windows and 64-bit Linux; the command-line option is useful for Linux-oriented administration, while the graphical interface is Windows-only.

Version 4.2.4 is identified with a 64-bit Linux command-line version and a service that restores UEFI variables when Windows starts and shuts down. SHA256 values are provided for its downloads. Password protection is available for the boot manager and configuration program, though several password functions require a version 4 license.

Pricing

The free plan is for private PCs and public schools. Users may also try the non-licensed package free for one month. Commercial PCs require a license after that trial, and licenses cover a corresponding number of PCs, so teams should match the tier to their installed base rather than assume one purchase covers an organization.

Plan	Price	Fit
Private PC / public school use	0.00 USD per free	Private PCs and public schools; non-licensed version.
Boot-US 4.x.x, 1 PC	24.50 USD per once	One commercial PC; final price includes tax and transportation. Upgrade from V3: 10.50 EUR.
Boot-US 4.x.x, 5 PCs	59.50 USD per once	Small deployments; final price includes tax and transportation. Upgrade from V3: 19.50 EUR; school license available.
Boot-US 4.x.x, 20 PCs	119.50 USD per once	Medium deployments; final price includes tax and transportation. Upgrade from V3: 39.50 EUR; school license available.
Boot-US 4.x.x, 100 PCs	299.50 USD per once	Larger fleets; final price includes tax and transportation. Upgrade from V3: 79.50 EUR; school license available.

These are one-time purchases, not recurring subscriptions. The stated PC limits matter for multi-machine use, and the free allowance does not extend to ongoing commercial use. Licensed users' questions are intended to receive an answer within a working day; non-licensed users may wait from a day to a week.

Platforms

Boot-US supports Linux and Windows, with BIOS and UEFI booting on x86 machines. The Windows graphical configuration program is paired with command-line versions for Windows and 64-bit Linux. Its disk support spans MBR and GPT, rather than being limited to one partitioning format.

Who it's for

Choose Boot-US if you manage multiple operating systems on the same PC, especially separate Windows installations, and value partition inspection, hiding, and whole-disk or partition backup and restore in the same package. Public schools and private users can use the non-licensed version without charge; commercial users should budget for the appropriate per-PC license. It is less suitable for anyone who requires a warranty: the license says the software is supplied as-is and used at the user's own risk, and the tips page recommends reading safe-use guidance before installation.

Pros and cons

Pro: BIOS and UEFI support plus MBR and GPT coverage make it adaptable across common x86 boot and disk setups.
Pro: Partition and whole-disk tools add inspection, hiding, backup and restore capabilities beyond boot selection.
Pro: Free private and public-school use and one-time commercial tiers provide a clear route from individual use to licensed fleets.
Con: Commercial use is not covered indefinitely by the free version; licenses are counted per PC.
Con: The warranty exclusion places the risk of use on the user, a meaningful drawback for production machines.
Con: Several password-protection functions require a version 4 license, so the free package does not include every protection option.

Alternatives

Boot Manager Software is the broader category to compare if Boot-US does not fit your requirements. For a Windows-only alternative with a free non-commercial plan, consider EasyBCD. EasyUEFI is another Windows freemium option; its Professional tier costs 44.95 USD per once for two PCs, with free lifetime upgrades, and is a single-user license for Windows client editions.

For a Linux-only free option, Boot-Repair is available under GNU-GPL. If you need a free option across Linux, macOS and Windows, Clover Bootloader is open source under BSD 2-Clause, while rEFInd is free under GPL version 3 for EFI-based computers, with x86, x86-64 and ARM64 binaries.

Visor Boot Manager is a free BSD-2-Clause option for UEFI x86_64 or AArch64 that must be built from source. Easy2Boot is free and combines open-source menu components and plain-text scripts with closed-source Windows utilities. Ventoy is a free, open-source bootable USB utility.

Verdict

Boot-US is a strong choice for private users, schools and commercial teams managing multiple independent operating systems on x86 PCs, particularly when they also need partition and disk tools. Its breadth, BIOS/UEFI support and per-PC one-time licensing are compelling; look elsewhere if an as-is product without warranty is unsuitable, or if your deployment does not match its PC-based licensing.
