Overview

Keepsafe Photo Vault is a mobile vault for photos, videos, and documents on iOS and Android. It is best suited to people who want access controls alongside encrypted cloud backup for personal images or document copies. Its appeal is the combination of private storage and recovery; the Basic plan’s 200-item cloud cap makes it a limited long-term option without Premium.

Key features

A PIN, fingerprint authentication, or Face ID protects vault access. Custom albums help keep different kinds of content organized, and Premium adds separate passwords for individual albums. That extra separation is useful for sensitive collections, but it sits behind a paid plan.

Keepsafe can sync vault items to a private cloud for recovery or use on another device. The company says photos and videos are protected with 256-bit AES encryption at rest, backups are encrypted, and employees cannot access or view users’ content. Those protections make backup more useful for private files, while access still depends on protecting the user’s device and account.

Premium adds a Decoy Vault with its own PIN and Intruder Alerts that take a photo after an incorrect PIN attempt. Space Saver compresses photos on the device while storing originals in the cloud, which can help when local storage is tight. Safe Send lets users share pictures from Keepsafe for a limited time. The app also includes a private camera.

Pricing

Keepsafe Basic is free. It is ad-supported and backs up up to 200 cloud items, a reasonable starting point for a small vault but a hard ceiling for larger photo libraries.

Keepsafe Premium Monthly costs 9.99 USD per month and automatically renews unless cancelled. Keepsafe Premium Yearly costs 23.99 USD per year and also automatically renews unless cancelled. Both support up to 10,000 cloud items and include Premium features, including separate album passwords, Decoy Vault, Intruder Alerts, and Space Saver. The yearly plan is the lower-cost route for someone committed to Premium; monthly billing suits those who prefer not to commit to a year.

Keepsafe Premium Lifetime supports up to 100,000 cloud items and includes Premium features, but its price is custom pricing. New accounts are offered a 30-day complimentary Premium trial, and the trial does not automatically charge when it ends. Check the renewal terms on either subscription plan before choosing it.

Platforms

Keepsafe Photo Vault is available on Android and iOS, including use on phones and tablets. Support is reachable by submitting a ticket in the app or emailing support@getkeepsafe.com.

Who it's for

Keepsafe fits individuals and families who want to preserve memories, organize family photos, or keep copies of identity cards, credit cards, and other documents in a protected mobile space. Its encrypted backup is particularly useful for people who want a recovery path or access on another device. Teams selecting software for a shared work stack should look elsewhere: this is a personal mobile vault, not a team platform.

Pros and cons

Pros: Encrypted cloud backup supports recovery and cross-device use, while PIN and biometric access give users several ways to protect the vault.
Pros: Premium combines higher item limits with album passwords, Decoy Vault, Intruder Alerts, Space Saver, and timed sharing.
Cons: Basic is ad-supported and capped at 200 cloud items, which can be restrictive for an established photo collection.
Cons: Monthly and yearly Premium subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled; lifetime pricing is custom pricing.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, browse Photo Vault Apps. PhotoGuard is an Android alternative with a free download; its free listing includes ads and in-app purchases, while Premium unlocks features and removes ads.

Obscura Photo Vault is an iOS option with a free tier capped at 50 photos in one vault and a Pro Monthly plan at 6.99 USD per month for unlimited photos and videos and unlimited vaults. Private Photo Vault is available on Android and iOS; its Basic plan provides an on-device vault, but cloud backup is deleted when switching to Basic.

Secret Album: Photo Vault is an iOS and macOS alternative with a free iPhone and iPad app for encrypted photo and video storage. Vaulty is an Android alternative whose free plan includes ads and automatic Google Drive backup.

Weave Vault offers Android and iOS apps, with a free allowance of up to three vaults and 50 files per vault. GalleryVault is another Android and iOS option; its MonthSubscription costs 9.90 CNY per month and includes 100GB cloud storage, fingerprint unlock, folder lock, fake passcode, shake to close, and random PIN keyboard.

Magic Photo Vault is an alternative for Android and iOS users.

Verdict

Keepsafe Photo Vault is a sound choice for individuals and families who want a mobile vault with encrypted backup, flexible access controls, and room to grow beyond a small free collection. Choose it when recovery and Premium privacy features matter more than avoiding a subscription; look elsewhere if a 200-item free cap or automatic subscription renewal does not fit your needs.
