Overview

Freshsales is a sales CRM for teams that want lead management, customer conversations, and deal tracking in one workspace. It is a strong fit for small and growing sales teams that can use its built-in channels and automation; teams with more demanding integration or mobile requirements should check that it fits their existing stack.

Its appeal is the combination of pipeline tools, email, phone, chat, and Freddy AI support. The main trade-offs are a three-user limit on the free plan and a paid entry price that requires annual billing.

Key features

Leads, contacts, and deals

Freshsales covers lead capture, qualification, routing, and tracking, with lead scoring and forms. A 360-degree contact view follows customers through their buying journey. Teams can customize pipeline stages, use kanban views with drag-and-drop cards, forecast revenue, and get AI-powered closing recommendations. This gives sales teams a connected view of prospects and deal progress, though contact scoring and territory management require Pro.

Communication and automation

Built-in email, phone, and chat keep customer interactions close to CRM work, with integrations for Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp Business. Email sync, templates, customer journeys, task management, auto-assignment rules, sales sequences, workflows, and internal notifications support follow-up and coordination. Growth includes basic workflows, a practical starting point for repetitive tasks, while more advanced sales controls are reserved for higher tiers.

Freddy AI and integrations

Freddy AI highlights leads and deals, surfaces insights, and drafts emails. Paid plans include 500 chatbot sessions once per account; each session can last up to 24 hours, and session validity follows the payment cycle. Freshsales connects with more than 100 apps through the Freshworks Marketplace and provides APIs for custom integrations. That breadth offers routes into an existing stack, but teams should confirm that their particular apps and workflows are covered.

Pricing

The free plan costs $0.00 USD per free and supports up to 3 users, with 100 contacts included. It offers a low-risk way for a very small team to begin, but the seat ceiling makes it unsuitable once the sales group grows beyond three.

Growth costs $9.00 USD per month, billed annually. Aimed at startups and SMBs, it includes kanban views, contact lifecycle stages, chat, email and phone, email templates, custom fields, and basic workflows. It is the entry point for teams that need shared sales processes and routine automation, but those seeking contact scoring, deal insights, or territory management need Pro.

Pro costs $39.00 USD per month, billed annually, and targets growing and mid-sized businesses. It adds contact scoring, deal insights, custom sales activities, territory management, and sales sequences. Enterprise costs $59.00 USD per month, billed annually, for mid to large-sized businesses; forecasting insights, field-level permissions, custom modules, a sandbox, and audit logs make it the tier for teams needing stronger controls and customization. Both prices are per month with annual billing, so the higher tiers represent a substantial step up from Growth.

A 21-day trial provides access to the fully loaded CRM. Accounts are suspended if users do not continue after the trial, and continuing requires choosing a plan and paying by credit card.

Platforms

Freshsales is available on web, iOS, Android, and as an API and extension. Its iOS and Android app supports offline mode, Google Maps synchronization, check-in, voice notes, and Gmail and Outlook add-ons. Those capabilities serve reps who need CRM access away from a desk, though teams with specific mobile workflows should verify that the app supports them.

Who it's for

Freshsales suits startups and SMBs that want core sales CRM functions, communications, and basic automation together, especially if Growth's annual price and feature set match their needs. Mid-sized and larger teams can consider Pro or Enterprise for scoring, territory management, forecasting insights, and administrative controls. It is less compelling for teams unwilling to commit to annual billing or whose required integrations and mobile workflows do not fit its offerings.

Pros and cons

Pros: Built-in chat, email, and phone keep customer conversations alongside lead and deal work.
Pros: Growth includes basic workflows at $9.00 USD per month when billed annually, giving smaller teams a route to automate repetitive tasks.
Pros: Freddy AI assists with lead and deal prioritization, insights, and email writing.
Cons: The free plan stops at three users, limiting its usefulness as a team grows.
Cons: Paid plans require annual billing, which is a constraint for teams that need a shorter commitment.
Cons: Pro and Enterprise cost markedly more than Growth, putting scoring, territory tools, and advanced controls behind higher price points.

Alternatives

For conversion optimization rather than sales CRM, compare tools in Conversion Rate Optimization Software. Teams focused on outbound calling can explore Voicemail Drop Software. Industry-specific CRM needs may make Manufacturing CRM Software, Insurance CRM Software, or Professional Services CRM Software a more relevant category. For broader sales automation comparisons, see Sales Force Automation Software.

Webflow CMS is a better fit for exploring a CMS with a free plan that includes limited CMS, two static pages, 1 GB bandwidth, and 50 form submissions. ConvertFlow offers a free tier for five funnel campaigns, with integrations requiring a paid plan. Croct provides a free personalization and A/B testing tier with limits on monthly active users and content slots. Zoho PageSense has a free plan capped at 5,000 monthly tracked users, one project, one month of data retention, and five goals. Omniconvert Explore offers a free plan with 50,000 website visitors and its full Explore feature set. Instapage is a paid landing-page option with a $99.00 USD monthly Create plan. Landingi offers a paid Build plan at $24.00 USD per month, billed annually, with limits on pages, visits, domains, credits, and users. Leadpages is another paid option, with a $99.00 USD per month Grow plan.

Verdict

Choose Freshsales if your team wants lead and deal management, communication channels, and automation together, and Growth's annual commitment works for your budget. Look elsewhere if the free three-seat ceiling, higher-tier costs, or a mismatch with your required integrations and mobile workflows would get in the way.
