Overview

DisplayFusion is a Windows utility for shaping multi-monitor desktops, from display settings and window placement to taskbars and event-driven automation. It is best suited to people who routinely manage several screens or teams that need a repeatable desktop setup. Its breadth is a strength, though users who need virtual desktop controls will need another tool.

Key features

Monitor and window control

DisplayFusion can add a taskbar to each monitor, which helps keep windows organized across screens rather than concentrating everything on one bar. It also controls resolution, colour depth, refresh rate, orientation, monitor profiles and screen splitting. That range makes it useful when a workspace needs deliberate screen-by-screen configuration; it is more than a simple taskbar add-on.

Window snapping, sizing and moving are backed by saved window-position profiles, layout presets and application rules. These options suit users who want to restore familiar arrangements or apply consistent rules to apps. The omission of virtual desktop controls is a meaningful boundary: DisplayFusion handles monitors and windows, not every dimension of desktop organization.

Automation, remote control and wallpaper

Triggers can respond to events such as a window being created or focused, desktop unlock, or system idle, then run a preset command or custom script. That gives technically confident users a way to automate responses to routine changes without limiting the tool to manual adjustments.

A phone or tablet can control actions such as changing wallpaper or toggling monitors. Wallpaper can come from a personal collection, online sources or a direct image URL, offering flexibility without making wallpaper the product's main value.

Deployment and privacy

Corporate deployment options include silent installer settings and custom ADMX templates for Active Directory Group Policy. Those are practical advantages for organizations managing installations centrally. The privacy policy says transfers to company servers use HTTPS encryption, backups are encrypted, and passwords are salted and hashed. Desktop apps also send anonymous telemetry about OS version, screen resolution and enabled features; users can disable it in product settings.

Pricing

The free version costs 0.00 USD per free and remains available after the 30-day Pro trial. It gives users a continuing no-cost option, but the paid licenses provide the Pro offering and their terms differ substantially by intended use.

DisplayFusion Pro Standard: 34.00 USD per once, billed per machine, with a lifetime license and all future versions. It is the lowest-cost paid choice for a single machine.
DisplayFusion Pro on Steam: 39.99 USD per once, billed for use wherever the user's Steam account has Steam installed. It is a lifetime license, but requires the Steam desktop client for installation.
DisplayFusion Pro Personal: 49.00 USD per once for any number of computers in a household. It is for personal use, with one company computer permitted if only the purchaser uses it.
DisplayFusion Pro Site: 899.00 USD per once for unlimited machines at one site, with a lifetime license. This fits a single-site organization that needs broader deployment than per-machine licensing.
DisplayFusion Pro Enterprise: 3899.00 USD per once for unlimited computers at unlimited physical locations, with a lifetime license. It is the broadest deployment option for organizations spanning multiple sites.

The one-time terms avoid recurring license renewals, but the Standard plan is per machine, while household and organizational plans have explicit usage boundaries. License questions can be directed to the company for help.

Platforms

DisplayFusion supports Windows 11, Windows 10 version 1607 or higher, and Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022. Downloads support x86, x64 and ARM64, giving it coverage across those Windows systems and processor architectures. It is not a cross-platform choice.

Who it's for

Choose DisplayFusion if multi-monitor work is central to your setup and you want display configuration, repeatable window arrangements, per-monitor taskbars and trigger-based automation in one Windows utility. Its deployment options also make it a candidate for teams managing installations through Active Directory Group Policy. It is less suitable if virtual desktops are essential or if your environment is outside Windows.

Pros and cons

Pro: Display settings, taskbars, window tools and saved positions cover several parts of multi-monitor organization in one product.
Pro: Event triggers can run commands or scripts, extending its usefulness beyond manual window and monitor adjustments.
Pro: Silent installer settings and custom ADMX templates support managed corporate deployment.
Pro: The free version remains available after the 30-day Pro trial, and paid licenses are one-time purchases.
Con: There are no virtual desktop controls, so users who rely on that workflow need a separate solution.
Con: Standard licensing is per machine; household and site-wide coverage cost more and are governed by specific use terms.
Con: It is limited to supported Windows systems, excluding teams that need a common multi-monitor utility across operating systems.
