Overview

testRigor uses generative AI to create and run tests written in everyday language. Teams can generate tests from documented cases, then correct or extend them in plain English. That makes it worth considering for fast-moving teams that need to verify essential functions without centering their workflow on code. The tradeoff is that privacy and platform scope need careful attention: the free public plan exposes tests and results, and games are out of scope.

Key features

Plain-English authoring: Natural-language creation and editing can lower the barrier to maintaining test cases, especially for teams that want to refine documented scenarios rather than author every check in code.
Broad web coverage: Web testing spans more than 3,000 browser and device combinations across multiple operating systems. That is a meaningful advantage for teams supporting diverse environments, though it does not establish that every target configuration is covered.
Mobile and desktop testing: Native and hybrid mobile testing, physical devices through partners, and native desktop testing make testRigor relevant beyond browser-based products.
Workflow validation: API testing and mocking, email and 2FA tests, SMS and phone-call validation, data-driven tests, and downloaded-file validation reach beyond interface checks. This is useful when application behavior depends on communications, APIs, or downloaded assets as well as screens.
Integrations: Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, XRay, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, BrowserStack, LambdaTest, and Twilio are listed integrations. That range can suit teams already using common test-management, CI, device-testing, or messaging services.
Privacy and compliance: The homepage says testRigor does not record or store users’ or companies’ private data. Its Trust Center provides resources for GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001, and SOC 2 Type 2; reports require an MNDA. Teams with formal review processes should account for that access requirement.

Pricing

testRigor uses a freemium model and offers a 14-day trial. Plan choice hinges on privacy, platform coverage, and the level of support, not just test-case volume.

FREE - PUBLIC: 0.00 USD per free, billed Free forever. It includes unlimited test cases, but tests and results are public and shareable by unique URL. StackOverflow is the support channel. This is suitable for public or non-sensitive work, not private application testing.
Private Linux Chrome: 300.00 USD per month, billed from $300 / month. It includes private tests, Linux Chrome only, AI-based test generation and execution, and a 14-day trial. This is the clearest priced option for teams that need private tests and can work within a single platform configuration; the narrow environment is a substantial compromise against the broader coverage.
Private Complete: custom pricing, with a 14-day trial. It covers Ubuntu, Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Windows Native, with all AI capabilities and standard support.
Enterprise: custom pricing with personalized enterprise offers and support through Slack or MS Teams. It suits organizations seeking enterprise-oriented offers and those support channels.
Public Open Source: Tests and results are public and shareable by unique public URL. This public option carries the same key privacy drawback as the free public plan.

The free tier’s unlimited case count does not offset public visibility for teams with confidential applications. The paid Linux Chrome plan buys privacy but sharply limits platforms; teams needing the broader private platform set must consider custom-priced Private Complete.

Platforms

testRigor supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, web, APIs, extensions, and self-hosted environments. Combined with cross-browser testing and native desktop support, the range suits teams covering different application types. The game-testing exclusion is decisive for game QA teams.

Who it's for

Developers and QA teams at fast-moving startups are a natural audience, particularly when they need to validate essential application functions across several surfaces. It also suits teams that want to build from documented test cases and use plain English to refine coverage. Teams requiring private tests should budget for a private plan, while game developers should choose another tool.

Pros and cons

Pro: Plain-English test creation and editing can make documented scenarios easier to turn into maintained tests.
Pro: Web, mobile, desktop, and API support, plus communication and file checks, cover more than browser interactions alone.
Pro: The public free plan allows unlimited test cases, useful for work that can be public.
Con: Free-plan tests and results are public and shareable, making it unsuitable for confidential work.
Con: The $300.00 USD per month private plan is limited to Linux Chrome, while broader private platform coverage has custom pricing.
Con: It does not test games, excluding a distinct category of QA work.

Alternatives

Choose Autify if you want another freemium option with web, mobile, API, and desktop platform coverage; its free Aximo Individual User plan provides 2,000 one-time credits with no expiration and concurrency of one web and one mobile.

Puppeteer is a free JavaScript library that controls Chrome or Firefox, a better fit when you want that browser-control approach rather than testRigor’s plain-English authoring.

Choose Robot Framework if a completely free, open-source tool for API, Linux, macOS, and Windows is the priority.

ACCELQ is another freemium option with web, mobile, and API automation, as well as a free trial.

Choose BrowserStack Automate if you need a paid browser-automation option with a free trial; its Chrome plan is 59.00 USD per month, billed annually, for one parallel test.

QF-Test is a paid option with a free trial and a Desktop plan at 135.00 EUR per year, billed yearly with a 12-month minimum.

Choose Sauce Labs Cross-Browser Testing if a paid cross-browser testing alternative with a free trial fits better; its Live Testing plan is 39.00 USD per month when billed annually or $49 month to month.

Squish is another paid option with a free trial.

Verdict

Choose testRigor if your development or QA team wants plain-English test authoring across web, mobile, desktop, and API workflows, and can pay for private coverage where needed. Its range and natural-language approach are the strongest reasons to consider it. Look elsewhere if you require private testing at no cost, need a low-cost private plan beyond Linux Chrome, or test games.
