Overview

Pixelcut is an AI photo and video editor centered on product imagery, with tools for both individual edits and catalog-scale background removal. It suits sellers, creators, and brands preparing product photos, ads, and social content. Its strongest case is the combination of free, watermark-free HD removal and a high-volume API; the trade-off is that paid-plan prices are unclear and batch quotas apply.

Key features

Editing product images

Pixelcut removes or replaces backgrounds, upscales images by up to 16×, expands them, retouches with generative fill, and generates shadows. That range is useful when a product shot needs cleanup or adaptation for different placements, rather than a single cutout. The web remover accepts JPG, PNG, and HEIC files up to 50 MB and 6000 × 6000 pixels. Those limits are generous for many catalog images, but may rule out larger source files.

Pixelcut also includes product-shot, advertising, and video tools, extending its scope beyond image cleanup. Commercial use is supported. The free web remover provides HD downloads without a watermark or sign-up, making it a low-friction option for occasional edits.

Batch processing and API

Pixelcut says it can batch-edit hundreds of files, while its background-removal page supports up to 10,000 images in one batch with ZIP export. That scale is valuable for catalog work, but monthly batch-export caps on paid plans mean teams should check whether their recurring volume fits.

The background-removal API charges 5 credits per image, shown as $0.05 per image. It accepts PNG or JPEG and can return a transparent PNG, an alpha mask, or a ZIP containing foreground and alpha-mask assets. Claude and ComfyUI are also listed as integration options, and the API can be used in creative software and image-processing workflows.

For teams handling customer or product imagery, the API says images are deleted immediately after processing, are not retained or used for model training, and requests are encrypted in transit. Saved project images are encrypted and stored securely, and remain accessible only to the user unless sharing is explicitly allowed. Support is by email, with replies usually arriving within one business day; the help center covers web, iOS, and Android.

Pricing

Pixelcut uses a freemium model. The Free plan is 0.00 USD per free, billed per month and billed yearly, and includes limited background removal, limited upscaling, and watermark-free exports. It is a sensible starting point for occasional work, but the removal and upscale limits constrain regular production.

Pro has custom pricing and includes 600 AI credits monthly, three team members, and 1,000 batch exports monthly. It fits a small team with consistent editing needs, though the export allowance may not cover high-volume catalog cycles. Business also has custom pricing and raises those allowances to 3,600 monthly AI credits, 10 team members, and 2,000 monthly batch exports. The larger team and quota suit heavier use, but the batch cap remains relevant for the largest workflows.

Pixelcut says paid plans start at 8 /mo. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time. For API background removal, the stated per-image cost is $0.05, which gives teams a direct unit cost to compare with their expected throughput.

Platforms

Pixelcut is available on Android, iOS, and the web, as well as through an API. That combination works for teams mixing mobile edits with web-based catalog work or automated processing. Batch processing is supported.

Who it's for

Pixelcut is a good fit for sellers and brands that need to prepare many product images, particularly when background removal is a recurring task and ZIP batch export or API integration can reduce repetitive work. Creators making ads and social content may also benefit from the wider editing and video toolkit. It is less compelling for buyers who need predictable paid-plan pricing before evaluating fit, or whose monthly export volume exceeds the stated quotas.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free HD background removal without watermark or sign-up lowers the barrier for occasional edits.
Pros: Batches of up to 10,000 images and API outputs that include masks support catalog and image-processing workflows.
Pros: Monthly team seats and batch-export allowances make the paid tiers relevant to collaborative production.
Cons: Pro and Business use custom pricing, making total subscription cost harder to assess in advance.
Cons: Free editing is limited, and paid batch exports are capped monthly, which can constrain high-throughput teams.

Alternatives

For product-photo generation alternatives, compare AI Product Photography Generators. If the main task is extending image canvases, AI Image Expanders may be a more focused category. Buyers seeking cartoon-style output can browse AI Cartoon Generators, while video-focused teams can consider Video Background Removal Software. For restoring damaged or degraded images, see AI Image Restoration Software; for removing objects rather than backgrounds, compare AI Object Removal Tools.

Tagshop AI is an alternative with a free tier and a $29.00 USD per month Starter plan that includes 50 monthly credits and up to five videos. Artboard offers a $24.00 USD per month Pro plan with 500 credits, priority generation, HD and 4K exports, and a commercial license. Claid has API and web access and a free trial with 50 credits. GreenOnion AI is a paid alternative with a $19.00 USD per month Creator plan for 60 credits and e-commerce-oriented image sets. Pikes offers a one-time free trial allowance of 20 credits and a $49.00 USD per month Starter plan. Kuv Studio has a Pro plan at 14.50 USD per year, billed per month and billed yearly, with up to 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 monthly exports. Morzai is a freemium web and extension option with a 2,000-credit welcome gift and limited project history, batch workflows, and high-resolution export. Mokker AI offers a free plan with 20 photos once and access to its studio and templates.

Verdict

Choose Pixelcut if product-photo cleanup is a recurring need and you can make use of its large background-removal batches, API, or free watermark-free HD exports. Its range from mobile apps to integration workflows is a practical advantage for sellers and teams with mixed editing needs. Look elsewhere if you need transparent paid-plan pricing before assessing cost, or if your batch volume regularly exceeds the monthly export allowances.
