Overview

Pinin handles damaged, faded, and vintage photos, with tools to colorize, sharpen, denoise, and upscale low-resolution images. That range is useful when an old photograph needs several kinds of correction, rather than a single enhancement. The web service serves individual restoration; its API and business options extend the same workflow to applications, websites, and commercial operations.

Pinin says its model is designed to retain facial structure, expressions, and distinctive features instead of inventing faces. That focus matters for family portraits, where recognizable likeness is central to the result. Pinin also says it does not sell photos or use them to train AI, and automatically deletes files within 30 days. It describes the service as GDPR-compliant and made in Italy.

Key features

Batch uploads can accommodate entire albums, and restored albums can be downloaded together. This is more practical than handling a collection one image at a time, though the maximum upload size depends on the paid tier: 30 images on Giotto, 50 on Botticelli, and 150 on Da Vinci. Enterprise offers unlimited bulk upload.

For photographers, agencies, genealogy services, and archives, Pinin offers batch processing, commercial licensing, white-label options, and API access. Those capabilities make it relevant beyond personal restoration, especially when restoration needs to fit an existing product or workflow. Pinin's privacy policy names Stripe for payments and Google Analytics for analytics. Giotto includes email support with a 48-hour response; Botticelli upgrades that to priority support with a 24-hour response.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes one restoration, maximum-quality output, advanced AI enhancement, low queue priority, and no watermark. Its one-image cap and lack of commercial usage rights make it suitable for a personal, one-off restoration, not ongoing use or client work.

A one-time Credit package costs 5.99 USD per once for five credits, with one credit per photo and no monthly subscription. It is a straightforward option for a small number of additional images without recurring billing, but it does not provide a monthly restoration allowance.

Giotto — Personal costs 144.00 USD per year, billed annually at $12.00/month. It includes 30 monthly restorations, 30-image bulk uploads, high-quality AI processing, and output up to 2K resolution. This is the entry point for regular personal use, but the monthly quota and 2K ceiling constrain larger collections and higher-resolution needs.

Botticelli — Professional costs 32.00 USD per year, billed per month and billed annually. It provides 100 monthly restorations, 50-image bulk uploads, ultra-high-quality processing, and output up to 4K. The larger quota, higher resolution, and faster support response suit professional workloads; the plan remains capped at 100 monthly images.

Da Vinci — Studio costs 72.00 USD per year, billed per month and billed annually. It raises the allowance to 400 monthly restorations and bulk uploads to 150 images, with highest processing priority and output up to 8K. This is the stronger fit for sustained studio or archive volume, though its monthly allowance still sets a ceiling.

Enterprise has custom pricing, shown as 99.00 USD per contact. It includes 1,000+ monthly restorations with a custom allowance, unlimited bulk uploads, team accounts, webhooks and API support, and a dedicated account manager. It is the relevant tier for teams whose volume or integration needs exceed the self-serve plans.

Platforms

Pinin is available on web and through an API. The web option fits direct restoration; API access is the better route for incorporating image processing into an application, website, or workflow.

Who it's for

Pinin suits individuals preserving personal photographs and teams processing images for clients or collections. Its combination of album handling, commercial licensing, white-label options, and API access gives businesses more room to operationalize restoration than the personal plan alone. Buyers should check the monthly quota and resolution ceiling against their workload before committing; the free plan explicitly excludes commercial use.

Pros and cons

Pros: Restoration, colorization, sharpening, denoising, and upscaling are combined, which can address multiple issues in one photo workflow.
Pros: Album uploads and grouped downloads reduce friction for collections, with upload limits rising to 150 images on Da Vinci and unlimited uploads on Enterprise.
Pros: API access, commercial licensing, and white-label options support integration and client-facing business use.
Cons: The free plan allows just one image and bars commercial use, so it is not a practical ongoing or business tier.
Cons: Self-serve plans impose monthly restoration and resolution limits; buyers handling larger volumes need Da Vinci or custom Enterprise terms.
Cons: Giotto's support response is 48 hours, while only Botticelli is specified to include a faster 24-hour priority response.

Verdict

Pinin is a sound choice for individuals restoring family photos and for restoration teams that need batch handling, commercial options, or an API. Its broad repair and enhancement scope, album workflow, and higher-volume tiers are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if a one-image free allowance is too restrictive, if monthly caps or resolution limits do not fit the job, or if the free plan's commercial-use restriction rules it out.
