Overview

Productboard brings customer feedback together so teams can spot trends, surface frequent requests and connect insights to feature ideas. It also helps align product priorities with objectives and business goals, then presents plans through collaborative, contextual roadmaps. That makes it a strong choice when teams need customer input to carry through into prioritization and stakeholder communication. Teams looking only for a lightweight request board may find the broader planning workflow unnecessary.

Key features

Feedback and roadmaps

Feature requests, a feedback portal and sentiment analysis support the feedback loop, while roadmaps give stakeholders a shared view of plans. The connection between feedback and feature ideas is useful for teams that need to explain how customer needs inform product decisions. The 500-feedback-item cap on Free and Plus, however, makes those tiers less suitable for teams with a large or quickly growing feedback backlog.

AI, integrations and API

Productboard Spark includes AI capabilities, and AI chat, feedback summaries, scheduled tasks and an MCP server appear across plans. Monthly AI credits vary by plan, so teams should compare those allowances with expected use. Integrations include Zendesk, Slack, Intercom, Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Salesforce, Amplitude, Mixpanel and Google Drive, giving Productboard connections to customer-support, development and analytics tools. API v2.0 and a GDPR API for removing customer data provide additional options for teams integrating workflows or handling deletion requests.

Security and support

The Trust Center lists SOC 2 Type II, CSA, GDPR, CCPA, SIG, PCI, EU-US DPF, ISO 27001:2022 and CASA badges. It also describes annual third-party penetration tests and weekly application DAST scans. Community and email support are included in every plan; Business adds prioritized email support, while Enterprise adds expedited email support. These distinctions matter most to teams that need a defined escalation path as well as the product workflow.

Pricing

Productboard has a free tier, paid plans and a 14-day trial. Paid prices below are billed annually; monthly billing costs more on Free, Plus and Business where stated.

Plan	Price and terms	Limits and inclusions
Free	0.00 USD per free (billed billed annually (or $0, billed monthly))	50 AI credits/month, 500 feedback notes, 25 contributors, 1 teamspace and 1 product portal.
Plus	19.00 USD per month (billed billed annually (or $25 maker/month, billed monthly))	250 AI credits maker/month, 500 feedback items, 25 contributors, 1 teamspace and 1 product portal.
Business	59.00 USD per month (billed 2 makers minimum, billed annually (or $75 maker/month, 2 makers minimum, billed monthly))	500 AI credits maker/month, 25 contributors, 2 product portals and unlimited teamspaces; unlimited feedback notes.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; billed 5 makers minimum, billed annually.	800 AI credits maker/month, unlimited contributors and teamspaces, SAML SSO and SCIM.

Free is a way to start with one teamspace and portal, but its 25-contributor and 500-note ceilings limit its room to grow. Plus raises the AI allowance but retains those same contributor and feedback caps, so it is not the upgrade for a team whose main pressure is scale. Business removes the feedback-note ceiling and adds teamspaces, but requires at least two makers and still caps contributors at 25. Enterprise is the tier for organizations needing unlimited contributors and identity provisioning; its five-maker minimum makes it a substantial commitment. The 14-day trial gives teams a short window to assess the paid workflow before choosing a plan.

Platforms

Productboard is available on the web and through an extension, with API access. That mix suits teams working in a browser and connecting product data or workflows programmatically.

Who it's for

Productboard is aimed at product teams, from fast-scaling startups to enterprise organizations, that need to connect customer feedback, prioritization and roadmaps. It fits teams with multiple stakeholders and existing tools such as Jira, Slack or Zendesk. It is less compelling for teams that only need feedback collection, or whose contributor and feedback volumes exceed lower-tier limits without a Business or Enterprise budget.

Pros and cons

Connected feedback-to-roadmap workflow: teams can link customer insights to feature ideas and communicate plans in collaborative roadmaps.
Broad stack connections: integrations, API v2.0 and the MCP server support use alongside a range of development, support and analytics tools.
Clear scaling trade-offs: Free and Plus cap contributors at 25 and feedback at 500; Business removes the feedback limit but retains the contributor cap.
Higher-tier commitment: Business requires two makers and Enterprise five, which may be more than a small team needs.

Alternatives

Product roadmap software is a useful category to compare when roadmapping is the primary need; product management software covers the broader workflow. Teams focused on feedback collection can also compare customer feedback software, while release-focused buyers can browse IT release management software.

Linear is a freemium alternative with a free plan offering unlimited members, two teams and 250 issues; consider it when those stated issue-tracking limits fit better. BMC Helix AIOps, Digital.ai TeamForge and Planview AdaptiveWork are alternatives with custom or contact-sales pricing. Dragonboat is another freemium option. Enov8 Release Manager, Freshservice and KronoDesk are additional alternatives.

Verdict

Choose Productboard if your product team needs customer feedback to inform prioritization and stakeholder roadmaps, and its integrations and API fit the surrounding stack. Its connected workflow is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if you only need a simple feedback board or cannot work within the lower plans' contributor and feedback caps.
