Overview

Reteno centers on mobile-app retention: teams can use user events to trigger automated workflows and journeys, then target contacts with segments and personalized content. Its scope extends beyond push to email, in-app messages, App Inbox, web push, SMS, and messengers, making it a candidate for teams consolidating several campaign channels around app activity.

That breadth comes with a practical budgeting caveat. The free Startup plan caps most channel sends at 1,000 per channel each month, and SMS delivery can cost extra. Reteno also says it is designed specifically for mobile apps and recommends Yespo CDP to businesses without an app.

Key features

Journeys, segments, and personalization

Event-triggered automation is central to Reteno's offering. Teams can build workflows and journeys, use behavioral triggers, and create unlimited segments from contact data and complex conditions. Unlimited segments give marketers room to express detailed targeting rules without a stated segment-count ceiling; the free plan still limits workflow launches to 20,000 per month.

Reteno describes AI-based recommendations that predict individual needs and personalize content across channels. It also offers AI agents that can manage contacts, segments, events, workflows, and reports through Slack, Claude Cowork, or OpenAI Codex. Those tools broaden the ways teams can work with the platform, though the plan details do not specify which tiers include them.

Channels and integrations

Mobile push, email, in-app messages, App Inbox, web push, SMS, and messengers cover a wide range of customer touchpoints. Reteno also supports data integrations with Google Sheets, BigQuery, and HTTP request sources. This combination may suit teams bringing data from those sources into messaging workflows, while teams dependent on other named data connectors should check fit before committing.

Mobile development and controls

SDKs are available for iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, Unity, Cordova, and Ionic, giving app teams several routes to integrate Reteno into their stack. The platform also supports mobile analytics, A/B testing, and data export. Its DPA describes HTTPS encryption, encryption at rest, access controls, and security incident logging and response; Reteno says it supports GDPR compliance through a Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy.

Pricing

Startup

Free. Startup includes unlimited mobile pushes, 1,000 sends in each channel per month, 20,000 workflow launches per month, unlimited segments, and email and chat support. It is a useful entry point for smaller campaigns or evaluation, but the channel caps constrain regular cross-channel volume. SMS delivery may incur additional fees, so the free price does not necessarily cover every send.

Growth

30.00 USD per month (billed $30/mo). Growth supports up to 10K user profiles, unlimited workflows, eight included channels, and a dedicated Customer Success manager.

Enterprise

Custom pricing. Enterprise is for deployments over 250K user profiles and includes custom machine-learning algorithms and a custom retention strategy. Teams needing that scale or tailored retention work should discuss terms directly; the plan is not priced as a fixed monthly tier.

Platforms

Reteno supports Android, iOS, web, and API. Its mobile SDK options span native apps and several cross-platform or game-development environments. That range is useful for teams whose app stack includes React Native, Flutter, Unity, Cordova, or Ionic rather than only native iOS and Android.

Who it's for

Reteno is best suited to mobile-app businesses that want event-based retention campaigns, multiple messaging channels, and flexible segmentation in one platform. It is less clearly suited to businesses without an app, which Reteno directs toward Yespo CDP, or teams whose main need is high-volume messaging on the free tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Event-triggered journeys and unlimited segments support detailed app-retention targeting.
Pros: Seven messaging channel types and SDKs for seven mobile development environments give app teams broad implementation options.
Pros: Growth includes unlimited workflows and a dedicated Customer Success manager at 30.00 USD per month.
Cons: Startup allows only 1,000 sends in each channel per month and 20,000 workflow launches, which can restrict campaign scale.
Cons: SMS delivery fees vary by country and provider on Growth, and may be additional on Startup, complicating total-cost estimates.
Cons: Growth is capped at 10K user profiles, while Enterprise shifts to custom pricing above 250K profiles.

Verdict

Choose Reteno if your app team wants event-triggered retention journeys, broad channel coverage, and SDKs that fit a range of mobile stacks. Its free tier is useful for getting started, but the send and workflow-launch caps, plus variable SMS fees, make Growth or custom Enterprise terms more relevant as campaign volume and profile counts rise. Businesses without an app should look elsewhere.
