Overview

ViSearch is a video-search and processing service that turns recordings into searchable text and learning materials. It is a strong fit for educators, course creators, and media teams that need to retrieve moments across a video library; teams seeking only basic transcription may find its higher-tier discovery features unnecessary.

Its clearest advantage is a graduated set of search and video-learning tools priced by processing minute. The trade-off is that costs scale with video length, and semantic and visual search sit above the entry tier.

Key features

ViSearch offers full-text, semantic, and visual search, including searches across a video library, as well as audio and multimodal search. Basic covers full-text search; semantic search starts at Pro, while Visual adds image-based, face, and speaker search. This tiering gives teams a way to pay for the discovery depth they need, but those indexing richer visual queries pay the highest per-minute rate.

Transcription and translation cover more than 90 languages, with speaker labels and TXT, DOCX, or PDF exports. Basic also includes SRT and VTT subtitles. Pro adds timestamped chapters, structured summaries, and multiple-choice, true/false, and open-ended quizzes tied to video timestamps. ViSearch says quizzes integrate with any LMS, making Pro more relevant to course creators who want learning checks linked to specific moments; buyers who only need transcripts do not get those materials at Basic.

Users can upload common video and audio formats or provide YouTube, Google Drive, iCloud, and direct file URLs. The FAQ permits videos up to 10 hours, which accommodates long recordings, but the no-sign-up trial stops at 10 minutes and the signed-up free allowance at 20 minutes.

Embedding is supported through iframes, alongside REST API integration and on-premise deployment for teams. That mix suits organizations that need to integrate search into a product or keep deployment on-premise. ViSearch is operated by Kobaltstack LLC, based in New York, New York.

Pricing

ViSearch combines a free allowance with one-time, per-minute charges rather than a recurring subscription. That makes occasional use straightforward to budget, but frequent processing costs rise with every minute.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, with up to 20 minutes of video processing and no credit card required. It is useful for a small evaluation or light use, but the cap is restrictive for libraries or regular workloads.
Basic: 0.09 USD per once, billed $0.09/min. It includes full-text search, AI transcripts with speaker labels, and SRT and VTT subtitles. This is the economical paid option for teams that need searchable transcripts without semantic search or generated learning materials.
Pro: 0.15 USD per once, billed $0.15/min. It includes Basic features plus semantic search, timestamped chapters, smart summaries, and automatically generated quizzes. Course creators and teams that need richer discovery or learning aids have a clear reason to pay the increase.
Visual: 0.25 USD per once, billed $0.25/min. It includes Pro features plus visual search, search by uploaded image, and face and speaker search. It is the fit for visual-first retrieval needs; teams that do not use those queries can avoid the top rate.

The no-sign-up trial is limited to 10 minutes, while signing up raises the free processing allowance to 20 minutes. Refund requests may be made within 14 days of purchase. Support aims to respond within 2 business days.

Platforms

ViSearch is available through API, self-hosted, and web options. The combination gives teams both a web workflow and integration or on-premise paths; the right fit depends on whether they need standalone processing, embedded access, or deployment within their own environment.

Who it's for

Educators and course creators are the most natural fit when they will use timestamped quizzes, chapters, and summaries alongside transcripts. Media organizations and teams managing video libraries can benefit from search across clips, with Visual offering image, face, and speaker discovery at a higher rate. Creators with occasional or straightforward transcription needs can start with the free allowance or Basic, while those processing long or frequent videos should weigh the cumulative per-minute cost.

Pros and cons

Pro: Search progresses from full text to semantic and visual queries, so teams can match the tier to how they find material.
Pro: Transcripts, subtitles, chapters, summaries, and timestamp-linked quizzes cover both retrieval and course-content workflows.
Pro: API, iframe, and on-premise options give teams several ways to connect or deploy the service.
Con: The free allowance tops out at 20 minutes, limiting its usefulness for ongoing work.
Con: Per-minute charges accumulate with processing volume, and visual search costs 0.25 USD per once, the highest listed rate.
Con: Basic excludes semantic search, chapters, summaries, and quizzes, so buyers who need those features must move up to Pro.

Verdict

Choose ViSearch if your team needs to turn video into searchable, timestamped material and will use its API, on-premise, or web deployment options. Its strongest case is the combination of transcript search and learning outputs, with semantic and visual discovery available at higher per-minute tiers. Look elsewhere if a 20-minute free allowance is too small for evaluation or if predictable recurring costs matter more than pay-per-minute flexibility.
